  1. Very Good, Ivan . You had a brief Understanding on who Paul Krugman was and what he did. When you said he had a lot of valid points what did you exactly mean by that ?

    1. I see where your point is, but you have to remember that Paul is speaking in a general sense. The government has to help spark the job creation so that the private sector's confidence in our economy is reinforced. The US Government is the largest creator of union jobs in the country. If they invest in this project, I can virtually guarantee that they will get a return on their investment.

    2. what I mean by that is the points he makes are very valid and it makes sense that if it is posible for us to get out of debt in five years, then we should try it. Don't you think?

  2. well isn't there any other ways to get out of this economic state without Paul Krugman's ideas? Also even if the government has to stimulate us out of the economy cant they do it without raising taxes?

    1. The thing is that as you said all this is ideas to get us out of the ecconomic state that we are in. Paul is just one of many economists offering a solution to the problem because what we are doing is not working. I beleave that they can get us out of debt without raising taxes, but the key is job creation, thus bringing in more tax revinue and stimulating the economy that along with better spending of public funds should do the trick.

  3. Paul Krugman has very good ideas on how to get us out of the recession, however his ideas on doing the same thing that President Roosevelt did cannot work because the war got the United States out of the Depression. Does he propose we wait for a major war for the recession to end?

    1. No james - - he dose not propose we wait for another war. But what he does is saying that President Roosevelt had some things that worked to stimulate our economy in his administration. Now, as we all know, history tends to repeat itself. He just saying that we should take the good parts of his 8 years and use it to our advantage. That is not to say that we have to do it verbatim. Obviously, we need to try something different.

  4. I Understand your statements behind krugman, do you agree or disagree with his views on spending into the economy to stimulate it and bring us out of depression? are there any other ways you think that might prove more valuable then krugman's views or do you think he uses logic behind his reasoning? if yes what might you say to someone who is against Paul krugman?

  5. Given the precedent of post Great Depression government spending during the Roosevelt presidency, allocating federal money in revitalization programs to increase job dis exhibit positive economic results. Although the circumstances aren't quite the same as the were during the Roosevelt presidency, I do agree with you and believe that controlled spending may help to push the economy in a positive direction.

  6. Krugman would argue if you look at Roosevelt's plans closely, he abandoned his federal spending levels just before WWII causing a recession. Check this out.

  8. This is a very good discussion ivan. I do Agree with you on the Spending in the economy. It can be built up. Depression is a big downfall to any state. and it can hurt so many people. So if that what pushes our economy up and avoid depression. I agree with you 100%. Nice bro keep it up You should be called the "Ivan man ideas"

  9. I agree there are mutual benefits if the government and the private sector companies work together. Weapons bring a lot of money but however with the advancement in weaponry the chances of war with other countries would increase. Wars may bring a lot of money but humans are greedy we never stop wanting more. Therefore more weapons will be created more people will die for the greedy of the companies and the government. Companies also don't like to lose money therefore if weapons aren't a good option to help the country make more money and get out the recession, and companies wouldn't freely spent there asset on average people how will we ever get out of this recession. We will first have to remove greed in everyone.

  10. This is a very good Ivan. I can tell you have a good understanding of Paul Krugman's ideas. Although Krugman's idea for the government to create jobs is great, his suggestion to do the same thing that President Roosevelt did is impossible to do. We cannot get out of a recession by creating jobs for a war we are not in. Roosevelt created jobs during WWII but that's not the case here because there is not current war at hand, we are trying to bring our soldiers home. It could work if there was a war at hand but there is not, and we can't continue to be in one just to wait around for a war to come to the rescue. Isn't there any other way for us to come out of a recession without having to wait?

  11. Prior to watching your video Ivan, I had pointed out that Krugman's ideal economic state was unrealistic. After viewing your video though, I do believe you have a good point; that the government should help create jobs. Economics is all a big business in my opinion, and just like any business an investment needs to be done. By giving people jobs the government is investing, in hope to get better outcome in the future. The better outcome in the end would be a higher economic input for America.
